The task

The plant had an old website: a header with a banner, a video, brands and a product list, not adapted for phones. It needed a new 1C-Bitrix site: a catalog of several hundred items, versions in several languages for buyers from other countries, a feedback form and a clear admin system that the staff could run on their own.

What we did

  1. Reviewed the old site and drew up the structure of the new one: catalog, brands, recipes, press center, about, partners, careers, contacts.
  2. Built a catalog of more than 500 product items, with composition and nutritional values on every item.
  3. Made four language versions of the site: Russian, Belarusian, English and Chinese.
  4. Set up the feedback form so a request goes straight to the right department by its topic.
  5. Built a search for the company's own stores and a display of current promotions in them.
  6. Configured the 1C-Bitrix admin system so the staff manage the catalog, news and recipes themselves.
  7. Delivered the site on time and kept improving it after launch.

Project highlights

The specific solutions we built, and why.

  1. A 500+ item catalog with composition

    What we built
A catalog of more than 500 items: sections on the left, and on each card the composition, calories, fats, proteins and carbohydrates, plus a New badge.
The sliced meats section on brestmeat.by: product cards with composition, calories, fats, proteins and carbohydrates, section menu on the left
    Why
A buyer or a purchaser has to find a product quickly and see right away what is in it.
    What it gives
The catalog is managed in the admin system: the staff add items and sections themselves.
  2. Four site languages

    What we built
Russian, Belarusian, English and Chinese versions, with a language switcher in the header.
First screen of brestmeat.by with the RU language switcher in the header next to search and the menu, a slider with NAMAZKA spreads
    Why
The company supplies products to other countries, and requests come from different countries.
    What it gives
A foreign buyer reads the catalog and contacts in their own language.
  3. Company stores and promotions

    What we built
A list of the company's own stores with address, opening hours, phones and a Show on map button, with current promotions next to it.
The company stores page on brestmeat.by: store addresses with opening hours, phones and a Show on map button
    Why
A buyer wants to know where to buy the products and when a store runs a promotion.
    What it gives
The nearest store and its promotions can be found on one page.
  4. Recipes

    What we built
A recipe section with a Recipe of the day: a photo of the dish, ingredients, number of servings, a See more button.
The Recipe of the day block on brestmeat.by: a bruschetta with mozzarella and sausage, ingredients, number of servings
    Why
A recipe shows how to use the products in the kitchen and brings visitors back to the site.
    What it gives
Recipe pages connect catalog products with a real dish.

A word from the team

A catalog of five hundred items has to be convenient both for the buyer and for the people who maintain it. So we agreed in advance with the staff on how they would add products, and built the admin system around their work.

What we would do differently

The project worked out, but there are things we would do differently from the start.

  • Include speed and accessibility checks in the first version: for a site with a large catalog and product photos, page weight has to be controlled from day one.
  • Prepare a more detailed guide with examples for the staff on managing the catalog, recipes and news.
  • Give the staff recommendations on optimizing the photos they upload: size, format and compression before uploading to the catalog, recipes and news.

About the service

We build websites that explain the product clearly and bring requests: from market analysis and design to launch and analytics.

We improve existing websites on any platform: fix errors, speed them up, add features and integrations.
